Activation depends on the system

A first-party data capability needs more than an integration. It needs a useful customer moment, clear data boundaries and people who can operate it.

When I designed the first-party data API for P&O Cruises social-proof messaging, delivery involved Product Development, Privacy, Architecture and MarTech. The implementation and the approvals were parts of the same job. Configurable data views, error tracking and documentation made reuse part of the design.

That is how I approach activation: start with the customer moment, then work through the data, permissions, platform connections and ownership it depends on. A working integration is useful only when the surrounding teams can understand and sustain the capability.
